We Need Help!

1.  Support the Arts Rally - May 1st at 3 p.m. at the Chambersburg Memorial Park bandshell.

We need people to:

  • Hand out postcards and post fliers in businesses. Use the contacts you know.  Where you get your hair cut, places you eat, etc.
  • Bring ideas on how to advertise the cheapest and the fastest.
  • Hand out rally information and brochures at the Tea Party on the Chambersburg Square, Saturday, April 24th at noon.  If we have enough help, we can take shifts.
  • Money donations. We will accrue several hundred dollars advertising, restroom facility rentals and security.  Ask for donations from businesses you know are art friendly.  Contributions are not tax deductible.
  • Performers. We are looking for students and community members to perform music and to use drama as a tool to communicate.
  • We need tables for the day of the rally. We need to set up two stations to sign petitions.  We also need 4 people to man these tables.
  • We need buckets, or baskets to pass for donations
  • We will also need music stands for performers.
  • Photographers. We need people to take pictures of the events.
  • Press. Does anybody have any affiliations with TV, Radio stations, newspapers?  We need the press there
  • Signs at the rally.  We would like to have people carrying signs either on sticks or sandwich boards to communicate.  We have some artwork done by students advertising to 'Save the Arts'
  • Crowd control. We should have security roaming through, but it would be helpful to have several of our own people watching for issues ie. kids climbing trees, rough housing, etc.  CFA will be responsible for any damage to the property.
  • Coordinate a group to hold signs on Route 30 to advertise the rally.  When?  Call the borough and ask permission.  Make signs.
  • Assist Amy in selling Tshirts at the rally.

2.  Support CFA

  • Dues - only several people have paid dues.  To have voting privileges, please bring $10 per family.
  • CFA has incurred many expenses and need to cover the following approximate costs
    • Legal Advertisement - $300
    • Advertisement for Rally- $200
    • Band shell rental - $25
    • Restroom facility rentals for Rally- $130
    • Security for Rally - $30
    • copies for fliers, petitions $50 +
    • Name reservation - $70
  • We are collecting petitions (PDF).  Please fill all the lines; there are 25 - it makes it easier to count.  You may drop them off at my place of work - David Rahauser's office 157 East Washington Street, Chambersburg.  We will present petitions either April 28th or May 12.

3.  Attend the Board Meeting April 28th

  • Speak during public comment time.  We need new speakers
  • Wear your green tshirts!
