CFA at CASD

CFA has launched its petition drive!

All members of the public who support arts education in CASD schools are urged to sign the petition.  The petition calls on the District to:

• Not reduce arts programs and electives K-12
• Fill the positions of all faculty who leave with appropriate professionals
• Define the arts as core academic subjects
• Actively involve the public before cutting any curriculum
• And more!

In order to carry the most weight, we are asking for pen and ink signatures on paper copies of the petition.  All signatures will be compiled by CFA for presentation to the administration and the school board.

Copies of the petition are circulating now.  In addition, you may download a printable copy of the petition.  Print your own copies, and get more in circulation!  Signed petition pages may be turned in to CFA officers, and may also be dropped off at several area businesses.  Check back soon for lists of businesses which are accepting signed petitions.

Although the petition drive will continue beyond the April 14 board meeting, we are making a "surge" to have as many signatures as possible by the board meeting as a show of the large support in the community.

Thanks for your help in working to persuade CASD to not cut the arts!
